this image will either have you saying, hell yea or hell no! for PLD that would be a definite --hell no!!! no thanks, although the view is truly amazing! i prefer the signature room on the 95th floor of the john hancock - where mr. PLD proposed to me some 12+ years ago! AWWWWW....how cute, i know! complete with a bottle of Dom and a carriage ride along michigan ave. and the surrounding streets! :)

anyway, did you know today is the 30th anniversary of the walkman? i know, 30 years!!!! WOW....i still remember my yellow sony walkman, complete with a portable cassette player -ha! ha!

oh well have a wonderful Holiday!

as for the preppy pink crab, i am so sorry - the package from my last giveaway was returned due to not enough postage! i apologize for the LONG delay and will be getting it off to you ASAP!!!! i thought i had the right estimate on the postage, guess not!

i checked my email this morning and saw a comment from the monogrammed sailor, "I was so excited about this when I saw it listed on friday, but then when I looked at my ruelala yesterday, it wasn't listed as a sale! Is it just mine or did it get removed from everyones? HELP!"

WHAT? NO WAY!

so i called ruelala and they said the sale was pulled and that corporate was going to hold it at a different time. although they didn't know when that would be nor did they say why the sale was pulled???? UGH, so bummed!

oh well, guess i will just have to keep my eyes open for when ruelala holds the williams-sonoma sale event!

below is an image of the nimbus sandal with a heel about as high i like it! nope, not much for high heels. not sure why this is, but honestly i am afraid i will brake my ankle.

i know no pain, no gain - that's okay, i am happy with heels comparable to the image below.

this week were are heading back over to michigan and heading up to our cottage. luckily the weather will be a little cooler than the humidity we had last week! i can tolerate the heat, it's the humidity i can't stand - PERIOD!

yey...it's friday!!! those of you in chicago you know that today is the start of the taste, oh joy! honestly, i avoid the taste! it's too always hot and way too crowded for my tastes! ha! ha! don't get me wrong, the food is great! ticket prices - well, that's another story. ha! ha!

then there's always the summer fest in milwaukee. personally, i prefer summerfest! click here for the link to the bands which will be preforming - 11 days, 11 stages and over 700 bands! sound like fun, it is and not to mention quite a drunk fest as well! yes, it's very crowded and i am not a huge fan of crowds but for some reason i'm not bothered by the summerfest crowd as much as the taste crowd. ha! ha!

summertime destination...

on our way up north to our cottage in northern michigan we stopped in douglas/saugatuck. i forgot to take photos from saugatuck, but remembered to take a few in douglas. guess, that means i will just have to make another trip back so i can share some with you. ha! ha!

anyway, douglas has some adorable stores i thought would share with you. a short drive from chicago makes this area perfect for that summer getaway!

on my way back to the car, i saw one of those amphibious boats and the guy made a comment...oh she'll be posting that on her facebook account when she gets home. not exactly, how about on my blog for the world to see, ha! ha! brackett & co. is one of my favorite places to visit! if you are lucky you will be greeted by 2 lovely dogs! such a warm inviting place to shop until my visit to the next store mentioned in this post!

below are photos from the french cottage. lovely store, but the sales associate was rather cold!!! no hello, welcome to our store and no good bye, thanks for stopping in and/or may i help you? - NOTHING!!! is that rude, or just me? ha! ha! and there you have it! hope you enjoyed this quick review of douglas, michigan. not much of a town, very small but they do have some cute stores! easy access on/off 131!

hope you all are enjoying the steamy summer weather! here in chicago we are in for some hot weather over the next couple of days! i actually had to turn our air conditioning on yesterday, YUCK! i hate air conditioning, but when it's hot i have no choice! ha! ha!

planning a visit to northern michigan this summer? if so, be sure and drive along M-22 and stop in glen arbor. you may have heard of the sleeping bear dunes or cherry republic? sound familiar? if not you are missing out on a lot of fun!

below are photos from my last visit. if you have been there before you might see a thing or two you didn't last year.

fudge - yup, the fudge sample area opened up last week and we were there on opening day! so in addition to sampling a variety of wine and cherry products - you can now try some fudge! who doesn't love fudge right!!!
inside they also had cherry peanut butter, new this year! at least i don't recall it last year? check out the YUMMY apps - celery, peanut butter and a dried cherry on top! can you say - DELISH!!!

besides having wi-fi, why do i go to cherry republic all the time? the answer can be found in the photo below - cherry republic sample counter, YUMMY! ha! ha!
below is a beautiful floral display - just had to post for you all to see, sorry my photos are so small. i forgot my camera battery charger so i had to take photos with my G1 phone. hopefully you can see the images in this post.how about a little bbq? i just loved the display below - too cute!!! notice the bear holding the grilling tools - too cute!!!
