i have to tell i wasn't always a fan of wine! however, lately i have become fond of wine! better late than never, right!two weekends ago, a bunch of my sorority sisters and i went out for sushi at COAST in bucktown [chicago]. turns out COAST is BYOB! so a couple of my sorority sisters ventured over to the closest liquor store and picked up a few bottles of wine.
unfortunately, the liquor store didn't have much of a selection. anyway, they brought back a large bottle of MOSCATO from BAREFOOT wines. i read the label and it said it is suppose to go great with asian food! perfect since we were having sushi!
anyway, i tried it and love it!
do you have a favorite bottle of CHEAP wine? if so, what is it?
yea, some people like their $2 buck chucks from trader joe's or where ever, while PLD enjoys her MOSCATO sweet wine! can't beat it for $5.99 a bottle...for the regular size, the larger bottle retails for around $9.99!
meanwhile, my all time FAVORITE wine retails for $28.00 a bottle. it's called HARVEST DELIGHT from ROUND BARN WINERY in southwest michigan. if you are ever in southwest michigan be sure and stop by the winery for a tasting! the also brew beer as well as vodka.
anyway, so i now have 2 favorite bottles of wine. like i said, up til recently i wasn't much of a wine drinker.i also enjoy visiting the wineries in northern michigan along M-22. my favorite winery upnorth is blackstar farms located between suttons bay and traverse city! speaking up upnorth, that's where i will be heading this weekend! ...can't wait!
anyway, as i sit back and enjoy a glass of wine....i decided to share with you a few things i found while at homegoods to this evening.
first off, check out this large white pierced lantern...look familiar? it's not from two's company and retails for $39.99. i like my white pierced lanterns from two's company that i posted about previously.
don't you love the blue & white theme of this display! ...love it!!how about this adorable blanket from simply happy, very lilly pulitzer like and a nice price point too! homegoods also had matching shams available as well!
and how about this hanging fishy....so cute and pretty, i might add!
i also found a few other hanging thingys --- crab, small fishy and sandal! so cute! i didn't buy them, tempted but i wouldn't have any place to hang them! so i left them for someone else to purchase.
oh yea, before i forget tomorrow gilt groupe will be hosting a vineyard vines sale!

I went to COAST last year when I visited Chicago! Omg their sushi was to die for! I was with my sorority sisters too! :) We bought beer and sakki. Haha!
Blackstar Farms is my favorite too. I always thought a wedding there would be so pretty!

I love wine, too. I enjoy tasting and learning about the European wines, but I also love going to local wine tastings here in VA. Virginia makes some great wines. My favorite cheapie, though, is German. It's a sweet white called Erben Kabinett, and you can find it for about $5-6 in most supermarkets.
I love the Barefoot Wines... they are really good for the price!!
