i did!
first up was a stop over at
costco. i picked up 4 more of those chrome shelving units for our garage. man, those boxes were heavy! good thing my husband was home from golfing by the time i got home! all i can say after a few hours of "hard labor" ....mission accomplished! the garage looks organized again [
not like a scene out of hoarders...no, not that bad! ha! ha!] and the garbage people will be busy on
wednesday!
ha! ha!
i also stopped over at
swoozie's! almost bought a bunch of
lilly pulitzer and crane & co. items i didn't need b/c the price was so good, but decided not too! instead i bought 3 more
lilly pulitzer mugs:
i ended up getting them for $8.75 each! HELLO! not bad considering they were FINALLY 50% OFF! ...YEAH!!
remember everything is now 50-70% off! great time to cash in on some good deals, especially if you are a stationery fan!
i was surprised that the 3 patterns they had were 3 i needed for my collection! so i really lucked out! below you can see my little collection of lilly pulitzer latte da! mugs:
i am now up to 8 latte da! mugs. i wonder how many patterns i am missing? eventually i want to have 1 of each pattern. someday they could be worth some $$$ to a collector! after all, they would be worth more as a "collection" than individual --- ha! ha! okay, i have been watching too much of the antique roadshow! ha! ha!
i never made it over to armitage and michigan ave. after working in my garage i was too exhausted to even think about shopping! so i took a nap and went out to dinner with my husband.
oh, i have to share our good deed for the day...
my husband was walking home from church and there was a younger woman begging for money to feed her family. she said she had 4 brothers and sisters to care for and didn't have a job and so on. my husband gave her a $2 and went about his way.
he told me this when he got home and we went back and gave her 5 boxes of cereal. she was so happy, more embarrassed than happy but still thankful at the same time.
i am leery about giving cash to people in need. you NEVER know if they are using it to buy alcohol or drugs! i would much rather give them food! after all that's what they say they need the $$$ for right!
oh, and i also donated another $2 to children's hospital when i was at costco! i was shocked by how many people just walked by and didn't make a donation! guess i am one loves to donate and give back! a few weeks ago, i gave $5 to misericordia to someone asking for donations. he was SHOCKED that i gave them $5! really?!?!? i have a brother with downs syndrome, so this cause is especially close to my heart!
anyway, today i plan on making it over to armitage and michigan ave. for some retail therapy. however, i think it was "therapy" cleaning out my garage... why you ask?
let's just say, i wanted to buy hot pink towels for my jaye's items i purchased a couple of weeks ago. you can see photos by viewing back through my blog. anyway, while cleaning the garage i came across a bag of hot pink towels i forgot i purchased before we moved! pretty cool finding...now i don't have to buy 4 sets of hot pink towels! ha! ha!
speaking of towels...I AM PISSED!!!!!
i bought a couple of sets of towels a few years back from waterworks back when they had a store in birmingham, michigan. well, i don't have extra washcloths and now one is ruined!
i was blessed NOT to deal with acne during my youth! thank god!! yeah, i would get the occasional zit/pimple but that was about it! well, let's just saw i had a certain "pimple" that required special attention -- ha! ha! ha!
anyway, i went over to ulta and picked up some neutrogena clean pore cleanser/mask. i have used this stuff in the passed. well, i am NOT sure what they put in their product but my washcloth is ruined! this has NEVER EVER happened to me before! WHAT THE HELL!!!!!
bleach....seriously!!!!
great, now my waterworks washcloth is ruined....thank you very little!
oh well, it's not the end of the world.
i'll get over it, but
seriously what are they putting into their products today? makes me wonder!!
oh well, i need to hop out in the shower so i can go out to brunch and then enjoy an afternoon shopping and enjoy some time downtown.
