OMG!

tonight i stopped over at costco for some boursin cheese and pretzel chips for tomorrow. not sure about you, but i love boursin cheese! it's perfect for holiday entertaining and is often a party staple here in the midwest! YUMMY!!! well, as i was wondering around costco i am across this HUGE 55" disney stocking...OMG! too cool, what child would not love to have this HUGE stocking full of presents christmas morning! ha! ha! ha!i forgot the price but i know it was around $27.00 -- i think?!?!?

guess what arrived? if you have been following my blog you know....my new leather boots from land's end! LOVE 'EM!!!
they are actually super comfy, not those stiff boots that need a little breaking into before they are comfortable! so excited, and of course ---- we are suppose to get 1-4 inches of SNOW! UGH!!! guess i better waterproof them ASAP! ha! ha!

ironically, i thought i purchased the boots in 9.5, after all it was the only size left. well, it certainly doesn't look as though these are 9.5 boots?!?!? lucky for me they are a perfect fit....YIPPEE!!

oh well, hope you are almost done if not done with your christmas shopping! i have for a few weeks now and loving every moment of it! don't get me wrong, i love shopping but i hate crowded malls, parking wars, long lines and so on....so i'll just sit back relax and then hit the stores after christmas once everything goes on sale, LOL!

have a great night!

wednesday's post...

good morning!

it's another chilly morning here in chicago! lucky me, ha! ha! however in two weeks i will be in florida so it's okay! hopefully warmer temps will return to florida by then! ha! ha!

anyway, i was checking out the williams-sonoma home website this morning and came across these adorable ming bath accessories in blue & white:

if only the set matched my bathrooms, darn it!

oh well, have you bought your planner for 2011?

years ago, i was all about my franklin planner. then i started buying graphic image leather bound annual planners from neiman marcus. however, i found that i would use it on and off for a few months and now just can justify paying $90 or maybe they were $75 for an annual leather planner! i can't remember now but that trend lasted what 3 years?

for 2010 i have been using the vera bradley planner...love it! i like the 3-ring binder option, thick paper stock and overall pretty basic agenda. after all, i really only use my planners for birthdays, vacations, etc. for 2011 i decided to purchase a lilly pulitzer planner. i have the checking in planner below. i love the stickers and the lilly pulitizer designs for each month are amazing. however, in comparing the vera bradley and lilly pulitzer planners i think overall i prefer the vera bradley planner.

in my opinion, the lilly pulitzer paper quality is cheap and the pages rip easily. the lilly pulitzer planner doesn't have the 3-ring feature, which i like. at the same time i really like the design patterns of the lilly pulitzer planner.

i don't know, what planner are you using for 2011? or have you gone digital? i'd love to hear your favorite planner!

guess what?!??? i checked UPS and my leather boots will be delivered TODAY!!!! ..SO EXCITED!!!! i hope they fit and aren't too big!!!

oh well, have a great day!

brrrr, it's cold out there!

hey there, hope you all are enjoying this frigid weather...NOT!

you know it seems almost every school district in michigan was closed on monday. all EXCEPT the school district which i grew up in grosse pointe, go figure! i think growing up we had maybe 3 "snow days" and that's about it! kids today seem to have too many "snow days" if you ask me!

speaking of cold weather, did anyone take advantage of caribou coffee's $2.00 medium drink special today?!?!

i almost forgot, but thankfully all i needed to do was show the email over my phone and it worked! yippee...i ended up ordering the campfire mocha, YUMMY!!!

thank you to maureen [a fella chicago blogger] for sending me the email! thank you, you rock!!! it was a nice change from my usual starbucks, ha! ha! my father is a caribou coffee drinker, normally i think their drinks are too strong! we shall see, especially when i try to go to bed tonight -- LOL!

oh well, i received an email that my boots are en route! can't wait for these beauties from land's end to arrive!most of all, i hope they fit! it not i am screwed, i have been searching for a while for a perfect pair of brown boots and "fingers crossed" i found them! ....can't wait!

can you believe i don't have anything on my list for christmas this year? i know, i am so turning into my parents, LOL! seriously, i have everything i want! okay, there is one thing i want that i have wanted for FOREVER but hasn't happened ...a CHILD! i have given up on that thought, if it happens it happens if not...it's not the end of the world! well, maybe!?!?!?!

oh well, anyone going away for christmas? we are going back home to grosse pointe, michigan and then back to chicago for a few days and off to florida....can't wait!!!

we are flying out of midway and i just read in chicago tribune today that those HORRID full body scanners have arrived! GREAT!!! i am sure it won't be a big problem! i am just going to dread packing, UGH!!!

oh well, stay warm and have a great night!

oh, before i forget i wanted to share another "shopping" website with you called no more rack. click here for your personal invite! below is a little blurb about the website when i put the link on my facebook page. happy shopping!!

new leather boots, christmas traditions and much more!!

greetings, hope you are having a nice weekend!

unfortunately i have a horrible cold that won't go away, UGH!!! not to mention, i can barely breathe through my nose, UGH! hence the Jaye's kleenex box below, ha! ha!

anyway, i posted on my facebook page, but i decided the throw a pity party for myself and ordered the following leather boots over at lands end: i just hope they aren't too big! my feet are odd, some shoes i am a 8.5, others 9 and even 9.5 in others --what's up with that?!?!?

anyway, they were a really good deal! lands end has a discount code for 40% off the highest ticket item and FREE shipping...offer good thru 12/13!

i have never ordered online from lands end, how is their shipping? are they pretty fast? slow? standard shipping [which is FREE] is 4-7 days...i am hoping sooner than later! ha! ha! they are a part of my christmas present...so a long as they arrive before we head to grosse pointe for christmas!

speaking of christmas, what are some of your favorite childhood traditions?

let's see, some of my favorites include:

- annual breakfast with santa at the detroit yacht club

- visiting santa over at jacobson's in the village ...still miss shopping at jacobson's!!!

- on christmas eve we usually had prime rib dinner. followed by christmas eve mass, of which i always enjoyed listening to the church choir sing christmas songs! back home my father would ALWAYS read us the night before christmas.

speaking of the night before christmas, i can't believe i actually found a photo of the book that's been in my family for many years. i know my parents have two copies, one for myself and one for my sister. i have yet to claim my copy! ha! ha!

...to be a child again!

oh well, it's saturday night and i am home dealing with a horrible cold! JOY! JOY! JOY!

have a great night!

Help, advice needed ASAP!

good morning!

i just realized my perfume assortment is running low. i just sprayed the last of my hanae mori magical moon. my laura mercier perfume is almost gone! my fresh sake perfume is down to about 1/3 of a bottle and so is my missoni missoni perfume. finally my marc jacobs perfume is getting old...
so it's time to invest in some more bottles of perfume!

what's your favorite perfume? i want to know!

i am still looking at buying a bottle of creed - the hot pink bottle, but i think i need about 2-3 new bottles of perfume. so please tell me what you like....with so much out there it can be overwhelming, sort of like eating at the cheesecake factory! ha! ha!

also, anyone picked up a new pair of tretorn's? i almost picked a pair in navy, but they didn't have my size.

do they run big?

the reason i ask i am normally a 9 - 9.5, but the 9 i tried on seemed so big! then i tried on a 8 and it was comfy buy a little tight? i really want to buy a pair!

it's only been what 15+ years since i owned my last pair? i remember when they sold for $30.00 or was it $34.00 --- certainly not the $55.00 they are asking today! ha! ha! i really want a pair, guess i should bring back a proper pair of socks with me and try them on again.

now that i think about it they must have been $30.00, since k.swiss were around $40.00. once k.swiss came around it was bye-bye tretorns! oh, the good old days...no, i am not that old! i was born in the 70's ---thank you very much! ;)

then again, i have to run back to nordstrom's today and exchange the adorable outfit i bought my nephew. i bought 3 mos. instead of 6 mos.....darn it! good thing i showed my husband what i bought and noticed i screwed up! another excuse to go back to oak brook...hee! hee!

plus, i picked up a pair of nautica jeans for my husband at costco...for ONLY $19.99!!! he loves them, so i am going to go back and pick up another 2 pairs --- come on, when can you buy comfy jeans for under $20.00...EXACTLY!!! ha! ha!

first off, i need a starbucks fix! plus, it's sunday and the mall doesn't open until noon. 4 hours to spare...what is one to do? i went to church last night, so it's a free day for PLD!

have a wonderful sunday!

deals...deals...and more deals!!

yesterday was a great day for shopping! you know how some days it's hit or miss. sort of like going to homegoods! ha! ha!

first off, i stopped at nordstrom rack. originally i wanted to go there to check out the shoe section. turns out they had 1 pair of the clear w/crystal jack rogers look alike from stewart weitzman. they were a size too big, otherwise i might of purchased them!

anyway, while at nordstrom rack i ended up purchasing 2 cute adrienne vittadini sweater sets - one in black and the other in oatmeal. they are so comfortable, can't wait to wear them! $101.00 for both sweater sets, not bad considering full retail i would look at around $248.00. PLD loves a deal!!

i also decided to stop at sears to check out land's end. i was shocked to see a huge area with items marked an additional 70% off...SERIOUSLY!!!!!

turns out i picked up 2 pairs of penny loafers. one pair in black patent leather and the other in brown suede. retail: $98.00/pair, on sale at the store $69.99/pair --- less 70% = KILLER DEAL!!!
i also picked up 2 modern paintbrush ruffle front pattern blouses that retailed for $49.50/each, on sale for $39.99/each less 70% = another SWEET DEAL!!! one in an adorable vivid blue stripe and the other in aztec gold stripe. LOVE THEM...SO CUTE and COMFORTABLE!!!
i also bought three turtleneck sweaters in black, brown and pink. also 70% off! normal retail $49.50, on sale for $34.99 less 70% off!
i think i managed to get everything for around $200.00! awesome considering the savings had everything been full retail...HELLO! like i said, PLD loves a great deal!! HA! HA! HA!

then my husband and i met up and went out for lobster. i also stopped at godiva for a open oyster -- keeping up with the seafood theme, ha! ha!

have a great day! if you have a land's end near you --- check it out! i told myself i was NOT going to check out the men's section! i am sure i would have easily spent another $100.00! ha! ha!
