ops, i did it again...

seriously, anyone else ever buy a gift and you end up keeping it for yourself?!?!? well, unfortunately it happens to me ALL the time, UGH! then again, why would i give a gift i wouldn't want myself, right! LOL!

oh well, i am heading back to work tomorrow for one day before heading to florida for new year's. anyway, i decided to stop over at tuesday morning and found this adorable candle and greek key candle holder in orange to give to a co-worker.

we are having our holiday gift exchange tomorrow, since a lot of people were out last week on vacation for christmas! we each have a $10.00 limit.

don't you just love this pattern! i couldn't resist buying myself one in pink and another in blue.
so cute! i think i might just have to go back and buy some more! wouldn't they make great hostess gifts....i know! definitely going back to buy buy more!

would you believe i paid ONLY $3.99/each! such a steal, they look so much more expensive that $3.99 for sure! they are by MICHEL design works. ....love 'em!
guess what i decided about 30 minutes ago?

you got it, i am keeping all three for myself, LOL! shame on me! now i have to run out to homegoods and find something else...darn it! ha! ha!

well, the candle is lit, guess it's definitely not going anywhere! ha! ha!i also picked up this candy cane box to store miscellaneous christmas items. too good of a deal to pass up at under $5.00! ha! ha!
oh well, i still haven't unpacked from our visit to michigan. i have tons of laundry and packing to do before we leave for florida. why do i constantly leave everything until the last minute? UGH! not sure when i am going to find time to get a manicure and pedicure? UGH, why am i such a procrastinator?!?!? ha! ha! ha!

it's here....

hey there, before i share the good news i wanted to show you one of the bookends i picked up a couple of weeks ago over in new buffalo, michigan. what do you think? aren't they cute! i saw the same pair on eBay for $98, i paid a fraction of the price! love it when i score a great deal, LOL!speaking of bookends, i also picked up this adorable pair of wellies bookends over at homegoods! i have since painted mine, still a work in progress! i just wanted to paint the boots navy blue, but then i went a little crazy! ha! ha! can't wait to see the finished product, LOL!

okay, so today i said the hell with my g1 from t-mobile! it was great when it worked, but lately --- well, for the last 2 months or so it would die on me for no apparent reason! really pissed me off! i could basically only talk to someone when my phone was being charged. drove me bonkers!!!

needless to say, i stopped by t-mobile today to check out the new myTough 4G....fell in love and bought the phone! love it! it's so fast! so many great features, of which includes: swype key, genius button, 4G speed and SO much more! love it!!

yippee!! really disappointed that my g1 didn't last very long! 19 months, definitely should have taken out insurance! oh well, live and learn -- RIGHT!! so this time around, i took out the $5.99/mo. insurance and like my mom said now i'll have no problems, LOL!!!

too bad i paid a lot more for the phone than i should have, since i didn't wait 22 months --- 3 months shy, but for me it's the piece of mind having a reliable phone in case of an emergency! RIGHT!!!

oh well, on another note how about prince william and kate's engagement! we all knew it was just a matter of time! i love that prince william gave her diana's diamond ring! awwwwww!!!!

i still remember where i was when i first learned about diana's fatal accident. i was at my apartment in lincoln park and i just had my 1st major fight with husband who was then my boyfriend, ha! ha!

fabric or plastic?!?!?!?

it's wednesday....that means 2 days until the weekend and that means college football time! YEAH! my michigan state spartans are undefeated....let's keep it that way!!!

of well, this afternoon i popped over to homegoods. i don't know about you but when i go there it's always hit or miss! i was told to shop there on tuesdays, i think? that's when the new shipment is out? or is it wednesday? i don't know?!!?

anyway, i picked up an extra "fabric" shower curtain liner. couldn't beat $5.99 for a liner compared to the restoration hardware one below that retails for $20.00.
personally, i am NOT a fan of "plastic" shower curtain liners. i am curious, do you prefer fabric or plastic shower curtain liners??!?! i'd love to hear your thoughts on this any why you use either plastic or fabric liners!

anyway, below is the extra fabric liner i picked up at homegoods.

i also picked up these buckets [NOT jaye's....darn it!!!] but for $5.00 each on clearance...i couldn't resist! not sure what i will do with the yet, but i am sure i will find a place!

oh, i have to share with you what i saw when i got home.....yup, my little feline napping where i sleep! too cute!!!!!

new finds....

greetings! hope all of you mother's had a fabulous mother's day! we spent the weekend up in wisconsin and had a great time!

not sure what happened to spring, it's been a tad bit chilly here in chicago! brrr!

i stopped at homegoods and almost bought the napkins below:

the napkins are listed at $9.99 for a set of 6. great deal, i know! plus, i love the lobster and crabs!

i am thinking i might have to go back and buy them, not sure why i didn't? but whatever! maybe i was just having one of my frugal moments! ha! ha!

don't you love the navy blue adirondack chair! i love it, but have no place to put it! homegoods has lots of great items for sale at the moment. normally i find it hit or miss!

oh well, i finally picked up my painting from the great frame up. didn't they do a FABULOUS job! i LOVE it!! now it's time to contact my insurance company and ad this piece to my fine arts collection.

not sure if you can see the oil technique that was used below? the paint is raised, you'd think being a commercial design major in college i would remember, right?!!? too bad, i don't! ha! ha!
oh, before i forget last night i stopped at sur la table in naperville to do a little shopping. i picked up some cedar plank boards for grilling. i also picked up one of those stainless steel grill plank savers, basically allowing you to reuse plank boards multiple times.

my husband was excited and can't wait to grill some salmon! that is once the weather gets warmer! oh, i just looked out the window and guess what is back? RAIN!!!! UGH!

oh well, on my way back to my car i saw this duck and her babies...i think there were 4 or 5 of them? she didn't let me close and i didn't want to disturb....too bad i didn't have my digital camera, so i had to settle for a distant view from my phone camera -- we all know those photos SUCK!! ha! ha!

can you see the babies? aren't they adorable!! looks like some restaurant dropped off some food! hee! hee!

oh well, have a fabulous tuesday! i need to get ready for work! fun! fun! fun!

hello, hope your weekend is going well!

as promised, below is a photo of the pillow i picked up at calico corners. isn't it cute! i love the fabric and decorative trim around the edges. i think it looks great! i probably should have also picked up some additional fabric just in case i need it some day, oh well! now i have another excuse to go back, ha! ha!

i also picked up the the ginger jar below over at homegoods. i really wanted the one in dark red, but it was $39.99 and i found this one on sale for $14.99 --- guess which one i bought! ha! ha! the cheaper of the two, of course! i will just keep checking back, hoping the red one will still be around when it's on sale! the retail price for the ginger jar is $70.00, so i think i got a pretty sweet deal!

as you can see my trio of rabbits is surrounding the ginger jar. still figuring out what i am going to do with the ginger jar? i guess for now it will sit on my dresser.

then i stopped over at whole foods with my lilly pulitzer market tote....lots of compliments, of course! ha! ha! bought the thick bulk bacon for claire robinson's spinach carbonara, which i posted about here. instead of using spinach pasta i bought some fresh buitoni linguine [at jewel-osco, not whole foods] - sorry, i am not italian and do not make pasta! can't wait to try the recipe tomorrow!
