my bags are packed....

well folks, tomorrow morning PLD is FINALLY headed to galena, illinois!

no, i'm not excited or anything! my bags are all packed and i am ready to get out of dodge! LOL!tonight we went out to benihana and had a fabulous dinner! i had the land and sea entree which consisted of filet mignon and scallops.... YUMMY!!

the favorite part of my meal was the onion volcano eruption. hee! hee!

after dinner i ventured over to the salon to get my haircut. she took off some 4 inches, yikes! it will take a little getting used too, hasn't been this short in FOREVER!!! guess that's what i get for mentioning "short for the summer" -hee! hee!

anyway, tonight i mentioned to my hairdresser that i was planning a weekend trip over to galena, illinoi. her reply was that galena is suppose to be the paradise of illinois. OKAY?!?!? never been there, but i have heard it's awesome! plus, the shopping is suppose to be great! can't wait!!

while i was packing, someone else thought they might try and tag along for the weekend. hee! hee! nice try, but sorry little guy you are staying home with your sister! ha! ha!

the vineyard vines tote i ordered from gilt groupe finally arrived. turns out it is reversible, bonus! i thought it would be a great way to transport my jack rogers and pair of stephen bonanno's, but no --- i decided to go with my vera bradley diddy bag instead.

instead, i plan on taking this fun tote to take to the pool. it really looks like an oversized beach hat! ha! ha!

....along with the tory burch flip flops that i bought a couple of months ago and have yet to wear! ha! ha!

oh well, have a great weekend! PLD is going away to celebrate her birthday, which is tomorrow! oh, to be turning 18 again! HEE! HEE! don't i wish!

well, it's time to pack mr. PLD! i don't understand, he can do his own laundry but always has me pack his clothing?ARGH!!!! i just don't get it....MEN! ha! ha!

presentation is key!

yesterday we were suppose to go up to lake geneva, wisconsin. however, the weather was so stormy in the morning that we decided not to go....good thing!

instead we ventured over to the old town art fair. i'll blog about this later, but for now i have to share with you a picture of my dinner last night. we tried a new sushi restaurant called sushi mono.

the sushi was excellent but presentation was picture perfect! check out the presentation below:

i had a shrimp tempura roll and a soft shell crab roll. check out the fan made of a sliced apple and the tea light wrapped in beet or something? it was picture perfect in my eyes! if you are ever in the western suburbs and looking for a place to eat.....be sure and check out sushi mono in wheaton, illinois! you'll love it...i did!

can't wait to go back!

oh before i forget....have you ever visited galena, illinois?

i haven't and just booked a long weekend there next month! can't wait, it's been a place i haven't wanted to visit for a long time! seeing that i have never been there i would love to hear about places to shop, dine and visit. if you have any insight...please share, thanks!
