all aboard!!! hurry on over...

all aboard....

we are about to set voyage to lake geneva, wisconsin!

....last call! ha! ha!

welcome aboard! hope you all are having a fabulous saturday! today we ventured up to lake geneva. i just love it up here! it's a great place to visit!

if you do make it up this way, be sure and take the boat tour around geneva lake. you'll learn a little history and see some amazing views...not to mention some beautiful mansions!

for lunch we wanted to keep it simple, so we ate at over at popeye's [or it's official name: popeye's on lake geneva] --- not the popeye's fast food joint you are probably thinking about! ha! ha! this is a family friendly establishment and the food and service is always great!

below is a view of geneva lake from our table. we couldn't ask for better weather!

speaking of "food" -- if you are in lake geneva and looking for a place to eat for breakfast/brunch, might i recommend scuttlebutts! they have the best eggs benedict! although, now that egg harbor [another favorite place for breakfast. strawberry oj anyone? yummy!!] is in lake geneva it's a tough call! ha! ha! although, if you are looking to enjoy a view of geneva lake then definitely check out scuttlebutts...

i could go on and on about all the fabulous restaurants in and around lake geneva, but all i will mention is that there are TONS of fabulous restaurants around town!

so, yesterday i blogged about bethenny frankel's recipe for her skinnygirl margartia! well, guess what i ran into:

sure enough, i was able to "sample" the skinnygirl margarita before buying a bottle! it was okay, although not what i thought it was going to taste. i think i will stick to my mojitos instead!

the sangria they were "sampling" was from ed hardy ---that was YUMMY!!!! one place i visit every time i am in lake geneva is the global gourmet. if you love "sampling" or "grazing" as i call it....this is the place to visit! it's like "sampling" heaven! ha! ha!just down the street is another store to put on your "must" list, it's called abbellimento. they sell everything from vietri to simon pearce! i personally love simon pearce! it reminds me of summer vacations in vermont! ....oh, to be young again! sadly those annual trips to stowe, vermont, ended when i moved to chicago and graduated from college! my parents still make it out there every summer! if only i had more vacation time! maybe next year?!?

anyway, check out this adorable table display below....has PINK & GREEN written all over it! perfect for all you preppy readers!!across the street is a newer store called notice. this is a great place to find environment friendly products!check out these awesome totes. sorry, i forgot the name of the company but i know there is a "b" in the name somewhere? anyway, they we priced at $30.00 each...not bad! they also had other tote style items from this company as well! i absolutely love the crab pattern on the left!

[UPDATE: thepreppyprincess commented on this post to let me know that the totes are from bella bags. thank you! check out her blog, she actually sells the bags on her website in case you are interested in purchasing a tote.]

i could go on and on and tell you about all my favorite stops in lake geneva, but that would take awhile. so we will move on to what PLD bought! after all, i was there to "shop" - not "window shop" ---HA! HA! HA!

over at the bootery i picked up my 16th pair of jack rogers! no i don't have 16 pairs of jack rogers, actually i have 9 pairs of jack rogers and 7 pairs of stephen bonanno's...of which my 15th pair is being made at stephen bonanno and that pair should be arriving any day now!!!!!

aren't they cute! i think i have a small addiction to jack rogers/stephen bonanno sandals! i can vision a color wheel of all my sandal colors! ha! ha! for some reason this new pair reminds me of tiffany's? gee, i wonder why!?!?! ha! ha!

i also picked up a bottle of oil and balsamic vinegar from the olive oil shops. another great place for "sampling" various olive oils and balsamic vinegars. i bought a bottle of the blueberry vinegar and the walnut olive oil....YUMMY!!
oh, before i forget.... a stop over at fleming's is a MUST! especially, if you are a fan of vineyard vines, vera bradley and barbour ---just to name a few brands.

anyway, i couldn't believe my eyes but i saw a chicago cubs ---YES, a chicago cubs vineyard vines tote! seriously?!?!?! how about a detroit tigers tote! ha! ha! below is a pretty crappy photo, i didn't have my flash on so people wouldn't think i was "weird" taking photos in the stores...hee! hee!

pretty cool, if you are a die-hard cubs fan! of which, i am NOT! nope, you can take the girl out of grosse pointe, michigan [a suburb of detroit, thus a detroit tigers fan!!!!] but you can't take grosse pointe out of the girl ....or however that cheesy saying goes! ha! ha!

oh well, thanks for riding along! hope you all enjoyed your visit to lake geneva, wisconsin.

next week we are heading to galena, illinois! can't wait take some more photos!

ops, almost forgot to share this sign that i saw at some random gallery:

on the way home, i told my husband he should have picked that up for me! after all my birthday is this week! ha! ha!

later!
