not sure where you live, but it's been freezing here in chicago! YUCK! YUCK! YUCK! thank god for my burberry cashmere earmuffs, lol!

speaking of shopping....hope you are making a dent in your holiday shopping! friday, i stopped over at nordstrom rack to use up the $50 GROUPON i purchased a few weeks ago. anyway, while i was there i saw the CUTEST burberry clothing for children....at nordstrom rack prices, HELLO!! little quilted jackets, like me black on sale for ONLY $149.00! perfect for that "mini" on your shopping list! ha! ha! it's not too late, i am sure you can find plenty of burberry over at your local nordstrom rack.

so i am still waiting for my smaller mason pearson brush to turn up! i thought for sure, if i bought another [which i did] that my other one would turn up...well it hasn't! WTF?!!?!?it's probably packed away in some box? who knows??!!? i was really hoping to find it, but no dice!

oh well, hope your week is going well! can't believe tomorrow is wednesady already, sheesh -- this week is flying by SO fast! guess that just means one day closer to florida, ha! ha!

did anyone watch gossip girl last night? hello, awesome episode! the next question is will blair and dan hook up over the holidays?!!?!? i don't know...i hope not, ha! ha! then again everyone else has hooked up...why not blair and dan, LOL!

if you are familiar with chick-fil-a then that saying [okay, so they spell it "chickin"] definitely rings a bell! ha! ha!

chick-fil-a opened near us today. i stopped over look at what they were giving away:

i drove by last night and the place tents all over the parking lot. they even had a dj who was playing zac brown band's song "chicken fried" -- great song!

personally, i wouldn't be caught dead camping out over night to be one of the 1st 100 customers to get 52 FREE meals or whatever they were giving away?nope, no thanks!

i was just glad that when i stopped by this afternoon i didn't have to wait too long! plus, i loaded up on some polynesian sauce and chick-fil-a sauce --- love their sauces! i actually perfer to use them on calamari, cod, shrimp, etc!

so excited tomorrow is friday! i am glad we are staying around chicago this weekend. any big plans for you this weekend? i know we are going out for sushi tomorrow night! saturday i am attending a cooking expo up in arlington heights, it was a groupon from earlier this week. should be fun! i believe there are over 150 wines to be sampled, LOL!!

ahhhh, i am in love....

what do you think? isn't this ginger jar lamp cute! i bought it over the weekend and have been meaning to post photos, but i still can't find my digital cameras.

CORRECTION: i found one of the digital cameras but can't find the SD card and do not want to spend another $30 to buy another! ummm...no thanks!! i already have 2 and 2 is enough! ha! ha! so for now i have to settle taking photos w/my G1 from t-mobile and the quality isn't that great...boo!

i love the pattern of the ginger jar. ironically, i think i saw this same lamp at the village palm [the lilly pulitzer store] in grosse pointe. i think! i remember seeing a green ginger jar at the store and remember thinking.... hmmmm, i want one of those! it wasn't for sale and i sort of forgot about it. i wonder, could it be the same lamp? if so, i lucked out! i picked it up at the villager in new buffalo, michigan, on my way back to chicago. it was only $99.00 --- out the door around $105.00, great deal for such a fun lamp! it's from port 68.

i checked the lamp out online and came up with a couple more photos below:

also, a couple of you inquired about the oil painting that is currently being framed. well, below will give you an idea of the finished product. I LOVE IT! i will pick it up next friday!
the framing cost $221.00, before tax, but b/c i had the same framing done a year and a half ago the guy gave me 35% off! AWESOME...better yet, i used my GROUPON coupon from the weekend and got $100.00 worth of framing for only $45 and then it comes out to about $44.xx out of pocket! not bad, about $89 for framing and $175 for the print....so worth every cent!!

is it friday, may 14th yet?!?!!?! ha! ha!

oh well, hope your week has been fabulous! i wish i could say mine has been, but the RED WINGS are well....playing tonight and let's just say it's do or die! come on detroit!!! UGH! other than that it's been a fabulous week and i am so ready for the weekend!

we are heading up to milwaukee, wi for the weekend. too bad it's going to be chilly....we are talking 50 degree weather this weekend, UGH! oh well...

sorry i have been MIA for a couple of days! i was in michigan for the weekend and had an absolute blast! it was great to catch up with friends i haven't seen in awhile. don't you love it how you can go a year or two or more w/out talking to someone and then you see each other an pick up as if it was yesterday!

the designer show house was AWESOME! i forgot NO photos allowed inside! so i only have outside photos to share with you. the designers did an AMAZING job! this was one of the better houses and locations the junior league of detroit has chosen!

i love the palm plants....mind you this is michigan, not west palm beach! ha! ha!

while at the designer show house, i purchased the oil painting below. it definitely reminds me of home! isn't it beautiful! i love it!!!

i love the sailboats sailing out on the water. it's just like summertime in grosse pointe or GP as we call it! so this will be a great memento to remind me of home, while i live my daily life back in chicago.

the only problem with this painting was it was framed. yeah, the frame is cute----don't get me wrong, but not the look i was going for, so after much work i was able to release the oil painting from the glue gun fest on the back of the frame! so scared i was going to chip the oil or hurt the painting, i managed to get it loose -- whew!
below is the oil painting i bought at the designer show house back in 2006, same artist. don't you just love her work! truly AMAZING! anyway, the this is the look i want for the sailing by the beach oil painting above.
