my weekend in photos....

hope you all had a fabulous 4th of july weekend!

we did, although the trip upnorth was absolutely horrible! it took almost 2.75 hours to get out of chicago and through the 65/94 construction mayhem.....UGH!! i don't think i have ever seen SO many people heading to michigan from illinois! seriously, we have been driving up for years and it's never been this crazy! guess those pure michigan advertisements worked! ha! ha!

anyway, i can pretty much sum up my weekend in one photo:
nothing like relaxing along the beaches of lake michigan! the weather was absolutely perfect on saturday! no humidity and it wasn't too hot!

spent some time out on the lake.
at one point i saw a jetski towing a boat! too funny! by the time i located my camera i almost missed the shot! too funny, there were at least 6 people on that boat too! that's one powerful jetski, ha! ha! i couldn't resist sharing the following photo of some visitors who stopped by a for a bit to eat! too bad they didn't stay around to visit! ha! ha!
of course, i couldn't miss the 4ht of july parade in glen arbor. just like last year it was hot and humid! afterwards, i cooled down with a trip over to cherry republic for some sampling --- wine, fudge and various goodies. good times!!a trip up north isn't complete without a little shopping in leland, suttons bay and glen arbor. below are a couple of photos from leland.

saturday we picked up some of the BEST white fish i have had in ages from carlson's fish market! YUMMY!!

overall, PLD had a fabulous time visiting with friends and family! looking forward to doing it all over again over labor day weekend!

in two weeks we are heading to galena, illinois, i have never been there! can't wait to visit! ...let the count down to that trip begin! ha! ha!

UPDATE: SAD NEWS... R.I.P. BOB PROBERT!

i just read online that bob probert the former detroit red wings and chicago blackhawks player died today! how sad! my thoughts and prayers go out to the probert family during this difficult time! probert was only 45 when he died. so sad, he was one of my favorite red wings! bob probert you will be missed!
